Cobb EMC to hold 2012 annual membership meeting
The seventy-fourth annual meeting of the members of Cobb Electric Membership Corporation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012. While no directors will be elected at this meeting, proposed by-law changes will be presented to the members present and a vote will be taken on these proposed changes.
The annual meeting will be held at Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta, Georgia. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and will end when the meeting begins at 10 a.m. Members must register with photo identification at the registration table. Commercial, government and church groups must provide authorization to represent their organizations at registration.
Chip Nelson, President and CEO of Cobb EMC, encourages all members to attend this important function. Members can currently view the official notice of the meeting and the annual report at www.cobbemc.com. The proposed by-law changes will also be posted to the corporate site prior to the annual meeting.
A Grand prize drawing for $500 credit on a member’s electric bill will be awarded at the meeting. Members will receive a door prize ticket at registration.
The Cobb EMC’s Women’s Task Force has made a beautiful quilt for the member with the winning ticket. Tickets may be purchased the day of the meeting. All proceeds assist in sponsoring three local students to participate in a national youth program in Washington, D.C.
The Cobb EMC Women’s Task Force will also serve lunch prepared by the Varsity to raise scholarship money for the Washington Youth Tour. The concession will be open from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until everything is sold. Chili dogs, hamburgers, onion rings, french fries, Frosted Orange and fried pies will be available for purchase. Soft drinks and bottled water will also be available.
Representatives will be available to provide information on Cobb EMC energy efficiency, safety and education programs.
