Roswell resident Dr. Jim Blair has previously written exposés on an array of urban, suburban, exurban and rural myths dealing with U.S. public health, in "UNREADY: To Err is Human."
Now he has released his latest book aimed at the country's healthcare readiness in dealing with known natural disasters, as well as manmade existential threats called: "DEADLY NEGLECT: Apathy and Denial vs Act of God."
Released on July 4 of last year, "Deadly Neglect" is the ugly tale about a group of courageous nurses who struggled to provide care to frail elderly equipment-dependent patients during Hurricane Katrina. Trapped in wind-battered, disintegrating, flooding hospitals this brave group of caregivers faced horrors known only to the few.
The book is available from Amazon Books in both soft and hard copy, as well as on Kindle.
