Act Together Ministries Hosts 'Tools 4 School' Event
It's the fourth year the ministry has helped local foster children and children from low-income families go back to school with all the supplies they need.
Act Together Ministries in North Fulton is partnering with Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alpharetta and The Vine Community Church in Cumming to help prepare local foster children and children from low-income families for the new school year.
During this “Tools 4 School” event, children will receive school supplies, haircuts and medical and dental screenings to help them start the new school year off right on August 5. The kids will bring their school supply lists to “shop” in a special school supply store set up with donations from the community.
For this store the ministry needs donations of school supplies including: backpacks, pencils, calculators, pens, notebooks, pencil boxes, rulers, markers, erasers and more. They'll take supplies through the end of July, says Spokesperson Leslie Dunn.
