Andrew Wordes Dies in Home Explosion

Though the body found in the charred home Monday, March 26, was thought to be Wordes, official confirmation did not come until late Tuesday.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner has officially identified the body of Andrew Wordes as the one found in his Alpine Drive home, which exploded in Roswell Monday.

"There is no cause of death at this time," said the statement released by the Roswell Police Department late Tuesday afternoon. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office would not release any further information at this time, other than to say that Wordes was still at their facility and his next of kin had been notified.

Wordes, known as the Roswell Chicken Man, is thought to have caused the explosion that blew up his home Monday afternoon, March 26, while Fulton County Marshals were on the property to evict him. His lawyer has told the press that he had filed a last minute injunction earlier that morning to stop the eviction, but the marshals showed up just after.

Mr. Wordes was a very nice man and a good neighbor. My husband and I feel sick about the way he was treated and about his death.

im glad i dont live in roswell anymore. the police and the courts along with all of the people in power there are crooked. the cops will try to arrest anybody for anything and they actively seek any sort of law breaking regardless of whether or not it is relevant or if peoples safety is an issue. the cities prosecutors will charge people with everything possible to try to get a guilty plea so they dont have to prove anything. i had a friend who got his car broken into the police recommended that he let them do a forensic test on it for fingerprints. he agreed, they did it, found nothing and then told him he had to pay them several hundred dollars to get his car back. i could not be happier to be out of that corrupt city full of evil authority figures. its a shame because the citizens are very nice for the most part.
