Undefeated Lamar County scored 21 straight points in 28-14 victory.
Blessed Trinity’s successful football season, which included its first playoff victory last week, ended with a 28-14 loss at Lamar County Friday night in the Class AA second round.
The Titans (7-5), who also were the Region 6-AA, Division B champs, could not withstand a second-half rally by the undefeated Trojans (12-0), who scored on two long touchdown runs after the game was tied 14-14 at halftime. Lamar scored the game’s final 21 points.
Blessed Trinity held leads of 7-0 on a Spencer McManes TD pass in the first quarter and 14-7 on Jordan Denson’s 7-yard run with five minutes left in the second quarter.
But Lamar went on a 91-yard drive and scored with three second left in the half to tie the score and turn the momentum
