Falcons RB Turner Arrested for DUI in Gwinnett - Suwanee Patch

Atlanta Falcons starting running back Michael Turner, a Suwanee resident, was arrested early Tuesday (Sept. 18) on charges of DUI and speeding in Gwinnett, records show.

According to the Gwinnett Sheriff's Office, Turner, of a Chattooga Terrace address in Suwanee, was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday. He was released on bond ($2,006 for DUI, $173 for speeding) shortly after 7 a.m. For more on this story see Suwanee Patch.

Lap Dances, Other Violations Cause Gipson's Bar and Grill to Close - Douglasville Patch

Gipson's Bar and Grill permanently closed at 5 p.m. Monday in anticipation of the City of Douglasville revoking the restaurant's alcohol retail sales license.

Chief Assistant City Attorney Suzan Littlefield addressed the City Council during Monday's meeting, stating that if a public hearing had been held, the City would have presented evidence that Gipson's offered lap dances for customers without an adult entertainment license. South Forsyth Man Arrested in Stolen Eagle Sculpture Case

A 29-year-old south Forsyth County man was arrested Monday in connection with the theft of the eagle bronze sculpture taken from the Big Creek Greenway three weeks ago.

Pedro Castro Garcia was apprehended by authorities around noon today [Monday] at his residence and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, according to investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. For more on this story see Cumming Patch.


Woodstock Man Drowns Off Gulf Coast

A Woodstock man drowned late Sunday morning in the Gulf of Mexico, according to local media reports.

The Star newspaper reports Danny Dee Dickens of Woodstock drowned while swimming in the waters off the Gulf County, Florida coast.

Gulf County Sheriff Joe Nugent said Tuesday Morning the 48-year-old man was swimming in the waters off Higgins Street in Indian Pass and his wife suddenly lost sight of him from the beach.

Nugent said the wife saw her husband floating in the water and flagged down a resident who helped pull the man from the water. For more on this story see Woodstock Patch.


Snellville Man Accused of Kidnapping Estranged Wife During Church

According to the Newton Citizen, a Snellville man is charged with entering a church in Conyers on Sunday and kidnapping his estranged wife.

The incident took place around 4 p.m., while members of the Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses were taking a break from service. Matthew Ryan Boutelle, 24, then forced his wife to leave with him, according to the charges.
