Flash Flooding Forces Roswell Road Closure Monday Morning
City asks residents to alert them of places throughout city where storm water gathers after heavy downpours.
Storm water from a weather system that brought heavy rains to Roswell temporarily closed Frazier St. at Hwy. 9 Monday morning, according to City of Roswell spokesperson Neo Chua.
A small, clogged street drain caused the back-up of water, which rose to the curb line and posed no immediate danger to property, Chua said. The street reopened several hours later, after the standing water had receded.
Shortly after the road closure, the city issued a request via its website for Roswell residents to report any flash-flooding issues online, so the Public Works department can address additional drainage problems throughout the city. If you are aware of a street or area that temporarily floods after heavy rains move through the area, click here to fill out a form. Your information will be sent to the Public Works department.
