Football Coach Named Top in North Fulton

North Fulton Chamber named Chattahoochee High School’s head football coach, Terry Crowder as its 2010-11 Male Sports Coach of the Year during the North Fulton Chamber’s monthly Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast at the Country Club of the South on Aug. 23. 

XL212, in partnership with the chamber, honored Crowder, who led his team to the Class AAAA state championship last year. The Cougars finished with a 24-0 shutout of previously unbeaten Stars Mill.

The Cougars compiled a 15-0 record, finishing as the top ranked team in all classes in the state and one of the top teams in the nation. 

XL212's Eric Douglas, in naming Crowder the top coach, said his influence has expanded into bringing the community together to support both the program and the school, said XL212's Eric Douglas.

"Coach Crowder has developed an impeccable reputation as an outstanding coach and an even better mentor to the young men he coaches," Douglas said. "He is committed to influencing those around him to go beyond winning."

Crowder sets those values in the classroom as a teacher and in the community, he said. He had the football team mow the lawns of neighbors to the school to make up for the aggravation of the crowds, noise and lights from Friday night football games.
