Roswell commuters who travel on GA 400 and who are use to using the toll booth will notice a big change come this November - there will be no toll booth.

The Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority said on Thursday the toll plaza will come down on November 21, reports WSBTV.com.

Gov. Deal: GA 400 Tolls End in December 2013

Last summer Gov. Nathan Deal promised an end to the tolls by Dec. 1, 2013, saying that bonds issued by the state will be paid off by that time, allowing the tolls to be removed. But it looks like that measure has been moved to a week before Thanksgiving, weather permitting.

A spokesperson of the Tollway Authority told WSBTV.com that it anticipates an 18 percent increase in volume once the tolls are removed.

Commuters expected the GA 400 toll to come down after 20 years, in 2011. But in 2010, the state issued new bonds tied to the toll revenue to pay for improvements along the GA 400 corridor, including a new connector to I-85. The $40 million in bonds were issued Dec. 1, 2010. Deal's office said at the three-year mark the state can repay the bonds without a penalty.

It's projected to take about six months to remove the toll plaza.
