Hembree Springs Students Become Scientists

First and second graders got some hands on experiment experience recently.

Hembree Springs Elementary hosted over 80 volunteers during its 11th Annual Science Day.

First graders were treated to four hands on experiments including creating tornadoes, magnetic force, density of liquids and making slushies while learning about temperature. Second graders were thrilled to dissect owl pellets, learn about force and motion and explore matter.

Volunteers included fathers, grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers. The Hembree Springs PTA hosts and funds this annual event, which has been deemed a student favorite.

The school specially thanked Harry's Farmer's Market for sponsoring the volunteer breakfast
