Hundreds of bikers brought their motorcycles to North Point Mall for the Ride for Kids.

More than 550 motorcycles gathered in Alpharetta on Sunday morning, June 3, all gathered for charity. It was the 29th annual Ride for Kids benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The bikers rode out from the North Point Mall parking lot to Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega.

Terry Geitner, the National Ride Manager for The Ride for Kids, said that this was a very special ride because, "beleive it or not, Atlanta was the birthplace for The Ride for Kids." The organization has grown immensely and currently stages 40 rides all over the United States to raise money and awareness for pediatric brain tumor treatments and research.

The "Stars" for the ride were several children who are in various stages of treatment and recovery for brain cancer, which is the number one cancer killer of children in America. Volunteers from several local businesses including Honda and Starbucks were on site assisting riders and helping the organizers make this event a huge success.

The ride started at 9:30 a.m and was scheduled to reach Lumpkin High School at noon.
