Keep Others Warm, Donate a Coat at Kroger

The 2013 Project Overcoat runs through Jan. 19.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division is teaming up with several local businesses and charities to keep families warm during the cold winter months in Georgia.

The 2013 Project Overcoat campaign runs through Jan. 19, according to a press release from Kroger. During that time, Kroger customers and associates are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to any store location throughout metro Atlanta.

Partners with Kroger include: the Atlanta Mission, United Way and Kiss 104.1FM, FedEx and WAGA FOX 5.

"Temperatures are dropping quickly, and our coldest months are still ahead," Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, said in a press release. "We hope that with the help of our customers and associates, we can give coats and blankets to those in need and keep Atlanta warm this winter."

For more than 20 years, Project Overcoat has helped provide thousands of men, women and children with jackets and blankets during cold winter weather.

To participate in the campaign, Kroger shoppers can place their donations in Project Overcoat bins located at the front of area Kroger stores. Log on to Kroger website to find a store near you.

Stores in the Roswell area, include:

Kroger, 900 Marietta Highway

Kroger, 570 East Crossville Road

Kroger, 2300 Holcomb Bridge Road

All donations will be distributed to the United Way and Atlanta Mission.
