Man Cited for Locking Dog in Hot Car

The following information was obtained from the Roswell Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

A vomiting dog left inside a locked truck with the windows rolled up was reason enough for an Alpharetta resident to call Roswell Police last Sunday, May 27.

Officers located the owner, an Atlanta resident, inside the Taco Mac on Holcomb Bridge Road where his vehicle was parked. They told him it was 84 degrees outside, which meant the interior of the truck was over 100 degrees. The dog had vomited all over the truck's mid-console area.

According to the police report, when the owner opened the truck door and let the dog out, it began to dry heave as if it were going to vomit again. The owner told police, "he's had stomach issues" and said he had brought the dog along while he ate dinner with his wife because he had just painted his home's interior.
