Youth Archer Sandra Kennedy won the gold medal and state championship for Female Recurve Archers, 14 and under, at the Georgia Archery Association's 2012 State Target Championships last weekend.

Over two days, Kennedy - a Roswell resident who attends Elkins Pointe Middle School - shot 144 arrows at distances of 50 meters, 40 meters, 30 meters and 20 meters.

The championship was held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23 at the Earl O’Neal Sports Complex in Conyers, Ga.
