Mansell Road Starbucks Begins Serving Beer, Wine

The Roswell store will be a part of the Starbucks Corp. test for beer, wine and "premium" food sales.

UPDATE: Thursday, Oct. 25, 10:03 a.m. - The new concept officially opened at the Mansell Starbucks on Friday, Oct. 19. It was the chain's first store to begin selling beer, wine and small plates in Georgia and on the East Coast.

Following an announcement this past January that it would begin to sell beer and wine at certain metro Atlanta locations, Starbucks was granted and alcohol license by the city of Roswell last Thursday, reports several media outlets.

The Mansell Road location is one of three Atlanta area stores to be a part of the company's test run at selling beer, wine and "small plates," according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The alcohol sales will start during the afternoon at 2 p.m., beginning this fall.

"I think it's a great idea, actually," customer Gabriel Sedlak told Channel 2’s John Bachman.

What do you think? Will the idea be a hit in Roswell?

I dunno. It's already difficult to find a seat there to drink my coffee & work on my laptop. If people are lingering over a glass of wine & conversation, how much time will they stay to drink it & to let it leave their system before they drive away? Oh, maybe the city sees it as a source of income - plant a cop in the intersection & wait for drunk drivers to do something stupid?
