MARTA Wants Input on GA 400 Transportation, Transit Needs

The agency's Connect 400 Transit Initiative will be the subject of a breakfast forum with invited community and business leaders next week.

A week from today a breakfast forum will be held on MARTA's Connect 400 Transit Initiative at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting on Aug. 30 will provide community and business leaders with an overview of the study and will obtain their input on transportation needs and solutions in this fast-growing area of the Atlanta region, according to forum organizers.

The North Fulton Community Improvement District and chamber of commerce, in partnership with MARTA, will host the meeting for community and business leaders in the GA 400 Corridor on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Connect 400 is an 18-month study of the GA 400 corridor, from I-285 north to McGinnis Ferry Road. The study will begin to identify the needs and begin to look at alternatives for more high-capacity transit in the corridor.

Visit the Connect 400 website for more information.

Bus only. It is the only cost-effective solution. Rail is unsustainable and requires too much tax subsidy to serve less than 5% of the commuters. No more taxation for boondoggle projects when the country is broke and people are struggling to put food on their tables. Be sensible and realistic. Treat it like it is your own money instead of planning idealistic utopian projects that require other people's money.

No Name, that is what people said about Ga 400 when they built it and now look at it. I remember when I moved here in 1973, people warned me to not drive on Ga 400 alone because if my car broke down, no one would be coming by for a long time to stop and help me. I do agree about busses but they must connect to rail . Bus for local and rail for longer hauls. But either way, Mass transit is one of the best answers to the problems we have in North Fulton's traffic mess.

How do you plan to pay for it? Leave me out because I would never use it.

Busses already connect to rail.
