Angela Aquino and Samira Marquez-Gomez, Mimosa Elementary students, recently teamed up to win first place in the third grade multimedia category at the Fulton County Technology Competition. 

Their project was a Prezi - cloud-based presentation software - on the countries of the world. The teammates decided on the topic for its relevance to their current curriculum and because each girl has family members from countries outside the United States. Marquez-Gomez and Aquino researched their project by talking to foreign family members and searching online using Google. They also inserted videos to enhance their presentation. 

The project took them the entire first semester to complete. Next, they will advance to the state technology competition on March 9 at Macon State College.
