Party in Roswell this New Year's Eve

You don't have to go downtown to find a good time on New Year's Eve. Here are five places you can spend the countdown on New Year's Eve without ever leaving Roswell.

When it comes to having a good time on New Year's Eve you don't have to travel far - there are plenty of places to ring in the New Year right here in Roswell!

From Aqua Blue on the east side of town, to Pasti's in the historic district, there is no lack of places to spend the last evening of 2010 or the wee hours of 2011, however you want to view it. Go with a group or make new friends, it's up to you. Here are a few of the options we've found to do around town:

- - Start off your evening with some melted cheese, or chocolate, if you prefer. The Melting Pot on Mansell Road will have a prix fixe menu, which includes filet mignon and Maine lobster tail for $75 per person. Enjoy selected wine pairings with each course for $99 per person.

- - This sleek restaurant/bar on Holcomb Bridge Road exudes class. Aqua Blue is offering a three-course menu for $49 per person; add wine pairings to each course and the price goes up to $69. At 9 p.m. a DJ will entertain diners and a complimentary champagne toast will take place at midnight. But best of all perhaps? The breakfast buffet opens at 12:30 a.m. Limited reservations in three seating shifts will be taken (5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.) For reservations, call 770-643-8886.

- - As a staple in Canton Street nightlife, you knew Pasti's had to have something going on for New Year's Eve! The restaurant/bar will offer a three-course limited menu, including an entree option of Rosemary Veal Chops, for $49 per person (not including alcohol, tax or tips). Live music will add to the party from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. For reservations, call 770-640-3870.

-INC. Street Food - This Latin America-infused restaurant/bar considers itself a "passport for the taste buds," so it's a sure bet for a fun New Year's Eve. As an extension of its regular operation hours, INC will begin its NYE  party, including music and party favors, at 10 p.m. For more information, contact them at 770-998-3114.

-Funny Farm Comedy Club - Get ready for a rip-roaring good time at Roswell's own comedy club (located in  off Alpharetta Highway) on New Year's Eve. "Last Comic Standing," by Comedy Central, will be presenting Pat Dixon and Carmen Lynch during two NYE shows, first at 8 p.m. and then again at 10:30 p.m.  The second show will include complimentary champagne and party favors for the countdown.
