Years of pleading from the Roswell community finally convinced local restaurateurs, Chris and Michele Sedgwick, to open a new installment of their popular PURE Taqueria in Roswell.

The restaurant - which serves fresh Mexican food inspired by the Sedgwick's own coastal vacations - is set to open this summer in the Roswell historic district at 1143 Alpharetta Highway, across from the Old Roswell Cemetery on Woodstock Road. The building, once used as medical offices, will be renovated before the opening.

"We've already got a staff working to get it ready," said Leslie Avers, a representative for PURE Taqueria franchising.

Though they won't be on Canton Street, a big location bonus for the Sedgwicks was the parking they will have, something that is hard to come by in much of the historic district.

The newest PURE will be the sixth installment of the chain, which started in Alpharetta during 2005. However, the Roswell PURE location is only the second to be corporately owned by the Sedgwicks. The family-owned restauraurant group also owns Bistro VG on Crossville Road in Roswell. Bistro VG, the first restaurant opened by the Sedgwicks, marked its 20th anniversary last year.

Avers said the company hopes to open the new restaurant in August sometime, though an exact date has not yet been set.
