Roswell High Student Scientist to Meet President Obama Tuesday
Anand Srinvasan will attend the 2012 White House Science Fair, Feb. 7.
One of Fulton County’s brightest scientific minds will be in the company of President Barack Obama tomorrow, as 11th-grader Anand Srinivasan from Roswell High School attends the 2012 White House Science Fair.
Last spring, Srinivasan was a finalist in the Google Science Fair for his project, which examines the use of electroencephalography (EEG) and prosthetic technology to make a more functional artificial limb. Just last week he learned he was selected to attend the prestigious White House event. He will accompany four other Google winners to the Science Fair and meet with President Obama, who will view exhibits of student work. The President also will talk to students, science educators and business leaders on the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, education to the country’s economic future.
In addition to being a Google finalist, Srinivasan has won numerous awards through the school system’s science fair and has advanced to state and national competition, where he also received top honors.
