You won’t catch Roswell native, Shannon Vann at home on the couch on Aug. 18. She’ll be taking a trip with her husband and four other couples to Santa Fe, San Francisco and South Beach - all without leaving Roswell.
This year is the fourth annual Trilogy Trolley Crawl and takes place on the grounds of Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation.
"We haven’t missed one yet, and can’t wait for this year! It’s such a fun thing to do right here in Roswell and we’ve never experienced anything quite like it," says Vann.
It will indeed be an event to remember. Guests will not only have the opportunity to enjoy an evening on the grounds of these gorgeous historic homes, but they’ll also enjoy corresponding food, drinks and entertainment at the "host cities."
In San Francisco - Barrington Hall - you'll catch up with some roving Hare Krishna’s and be able to get your picture taken in a specially decorated VW microbus. Then hop on the trolley and head to Santa Fe - Bulloch Hall - where talented Flamenco dancers will perform and offer mini-lessons throughout the night. he next stop will be South Beach - Smith Plantation - where the dance floor will be thumping to the Latin beats and cabana boys and girls will be spotted lounging by the "pool."
"I love seeing all the different themed venues and meeting people on the trolley," said Vann. "It’s a ton of fun and there really is something for everyone."
Vann says she likes to meet with the couples and have drinks and appetizers at one of their homes before heading out to the event.
"We make an evening out of it and look forward to the Trilogy Trolley Crawl every year! Last year we posted our pictures on Facebook and had so many say that they wanted to go – our group gets bigger and bigger each year," she said.
Roswell’s Historic & Cultural Affairs Manager G. Morgan Timmis, producer of the event, said that tickets to this year’s event are already selling quickly.
"We know this will be an especially popular year with the fantastic host cities, food and entertainment we have lined up," she said. "We’ll also be giving away an actual trip for two to South Beach that evening, which we’ve never done before. People are responding from all over Atlanta!"
The Trilogy Trolley Crawl will take place on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 7 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Parking is free and tickets are $40 each, which includes an evening of festivities, one drink ticket, three sampler plate food tickets catered by Endive Catering as well as live entertainment and continuous trolley shuttles from site to site.
