Smith Plantation Hosts Fall Farm Day on Saturday
Stop by the historic home Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a trip back in time.
The Smith Plantation is set to host its ninth annual Fall Farm Day this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 13.
Visitors will enjoy a variety of artisan exhibits and demonstrations portraying life on a 19th century farm, including living history exhibits and other activities such as blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and open hearth cooking. Children’s activities include period games, crafts, farm chores, wagon rides and a farm animal petting zoo. Visitors can also pan for gold and gems for $5.
During the event, the Smith Plantation will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a $4 admission. Fall Farm Day games, crafts and concessions will be provided by the Roswell Garden Club.
This free event is sponsored by the City of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, and the Roswell Garden Club. It will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the pavilion on the grounds of the Smith Plantation in Historic Roswell.

Smith Plantation is an original 1845 plantation site built by Archibald Smith, one of Roswell’s founding fathers. It is owned by the City of Roswell and located in Historic Roswell at 935 Alpharetta Street, adjacent to the Roswell Municipal complex. The Smith Plantation is operated by the Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department.
