Food trucks, local bands and vendors are just some of the things you can expect from Alive After 5 tonight, Sept. 20.
The cooler months may be fast approaching, but Alive After 5 and Alive at the Square still have a few fun evenings left in them this season. The monthly summertime event descends upon the historic district tonight, Thursday, Sept. 20.
As always, locals can expect food, shopping, artisan tents, music and entertainment at both ends of the outdoor celebration. Organizers have added a third trolley to shuttle pedestrians from Roswell City Hall to either area of the historic district.
Canton Street will again be closed from Magnolia Street to Norcross Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Mens in Blues Band will be at the Heart of Roswell Park and the Rockin' Roundup Band will take over the Plum Tree Village gazebo.
Down at the Roswell Square, attendees can expect the second installment of Alive At the Square to be filled with over 25 vendors and local merchants, as well as food trucks and live music.
It will be "another great time to picnic on your blanket in the Square," said organizer Anne Reddick.
The food trucks expected during the September Alive at the Square are:
King of Pops - exotic-inspired frozen treats with a flavor range from Mexican Chocolate to the Arnold Palmer.
Wow - "Wonderlicious on Wheels" is part of Duck’s Kitchen in Decatur, serving savory stuffed corn cakes - or arepas - in addition to other menu items like "My Oh My Tomato Pie" and "Crispy Shrimp Cake."
Happy Belly - a farm to street food truck, which serves a fresh, daily menu including items like The Georgian, a grilled short rib-brisket burger, with sweet Vidalia onion chutney, ancho chili dressing and cheddar on a soft Kaiser roll.
Buen Provecho - a taste of Puerto Rico with menu items like sweet plantains, corn fritters and a caramelized onion steak sandwich.
Champion Cheesesteaks - they offer a variety of classic American food including, of course, cheesesteaks.

Tonight, enjoy the unique entertainment experience of Satin Alley Jazz. With 18 singers and an 8 piece jazz/swing band, this group performs music from the 30s, 40s, and beyond while you enjoy a drink at the table, a nice slow dance with your honey, or do the lindy hop with everyone else on the dance floor.
Satin Alley performs again tonight from 7pm to 10pm in The Historic Cottage at the corner of Hwy 9 and Norcross Street, a block off Canton Street. Held in the renovated old library, now an events facility, you can take part in the Alive After 5 festivities, have a scrumptious dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants along Canton St, then drop in for a glass of wine or a margarita and an exciting evening of music and dancing.
