Holy blockbuster, Batman!

When the "Dark Knight Rises" premieres Thursday night at midnight, it's basically a guarantee that it will break ticket sale records.

The third and reported final installment of director Christopher Nolan's Batman series starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader is expected to rake in more than $150 million in its opening weekend alone.

In other words, if you are set on seeing the movie this weekend, you might want to go ahead and buy your tickets now. In fact, as of July 1, 100,000 tickets were already pre-sold.

Can't wait 'til midnight Thursday? Some theater chains, including Regal Cinemas and AMC, are capitalizing on the hype with early evening Batman marathons that include "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" and culminate with the "Dark Knight Rises" premiere.

Both of Roswell's theaters are hosting special events to celebrate the release at midnight on Thursday, July 19.

Studio Movie Grill in Roswell will feature Christopher Nolan's Batman marathon featuring Batman Begins, the Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises beginning at 6 p.m. that evening. Tickets to the trilogy are $30 per person, plus a $1 online purchasing fee.

Aurora Cineplex will release the latest in the Batman trilogy, "Dark Knight Rises," during a special 11:59 p.m. showing. At 9 p.m. the theater will start passing out numbered wristbands, to those who have pre-purchased tickets, which secures a place in line. Play some free mini-golf until the line into the theater forms between 11 p.m.-11:30 p.m.
