Tips on lulling your loved ones out of a sleepy coma.

There are dozens of sleep aids and remedies for falling asleep fast on the market, but what about this business of waking up?

I don’t know about any of you, but I am like a dragon in the morning. When my older brother was charged with being my alarm clock back in middle school, he would come through the door with a pillow as a shield to make sure I didn’t do any long term damage!

Save your favorite for first. They always say to save the best for last, but whenever we have to do something we don’t like to do (like work!), it’s always good to reward ourselves for leaping a daily hurdle. It could be yoga as soon as you wake up, a cup of freshly brewed coffee in hand or even just a few minutes of fantasy football. Whatever your favorite things are, find a way to work them into the very first minutes of your day. When we were in elementary school, my mom let us play with our favorite toys for 15 minutes before we had to get ready.

My husband knows that I will not budge from under the covers unless the fans are off and the temperature is the same on the outside of the blanket as on the inside. Since he leaves earlier than me every morning, he does things like turning off the fan in order to make it easier for me to drag myself out of bed. Doing things like that are not only great ways to show you care, but also help someone you love get up on the right side of the bed.
