Who's Roswell's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Barack Obama their person of the year. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Barack Obama as their Person of the Year.

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including Obama, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Roswell’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

Tell us your pick and why in the comment section below! We'll close comments Friday, Dec. 28, have you vote for your favorite person and name the winner during the second week in January.

I nominate Sergeant Danny Bates of the Roswell Police Department. He is a great ambassador for the RPD, and I feel anyone who knows him would agree !

Andrew Wordes. He stood up for his (and our) rights to the very end against a corrupt and bias local government.

I would definitely vote for Andrew Wordes! His actions brought light to corruption locally but also across the country where American's rights are being violated. God Bless you Andrew and may you rest in peace!

I'm so proud of Steve Stroud and his unwavering commitment to the City of Roswell! He serves as a great Ambassador for a city he cares deeply about. He connects business with worthwhile causes - no matter if it's to bring growth to Roswell or if it is to benefit numerous non-profits and civic groups!

Hello, he gets paid a sizable salary by the taxpayers of Roswell and has another $300,000 in taxpayer’s monies to do his job!
I am interested in knowing why no other printing businesses have propped up in the city to compete with his business since his association with the Business Alliance.
Could there be safety in numbers?
