Your Views: How to Better Support Small Business

We asked, Roswell Patch readers answered. Monday we asked you how we can better support small business in Roswell. Here's a sampling of your responses.

From the ambitious to the readily achievable, from upscale aspirations to the socially conscious, Roswell residents always offer some interesting and sometimes controversial ideas. Here's what you said in response to this week's Community Agenda survey.

Which small businesses do you frequent the most and for what purpose?

As a consumer, are there areas you wish would be filled by small business so that you had the option of supporting a local business person rather than a large corporate chain? What are they?

  • The Square, Roswell Village Shopping Center - Steve Stroud
  • Electronics

What can local organizations, such as the newly developed Roswell Business Alliance and "Find it All in Roswell," do to help small business thrive, in your opinion?

  • Build a better place for business to do business. - Steve Stroud
  • These [programs] appear to be doing well; [add] any more and you dilute the effect - Mary

Steve Stroud s a businessman, We need more input from others. Canton street looks trashy. There are way too many things setting out on the street. Those sandwich signs are out of control. I am ashamed of the way our historic area looks. I travel a lot to other historic areas and none of them look as bad. Businesses have been telling the city for years that the city does not care about businesses. I guess the city finally caved and now lets them do anything they want!

As a brand new small business owner in Roswell--Body Essentials LLC. I have been pleased with the help of Find it All Roswell and the newly formed Roswell Busines Alliance. We have attended monthly networking meeting and are able to pass out our business cards. Hopefully this will contine as well as promotions for Small Business Saturdays. ~ Linda Purcell, Body Essentials LLC ~ handcrafted artisan soaps and body care products.

You check out the restaurants and shops at the new Sweet Apple Village, Etris Road, Roswell! You'll find a collection of great restaurants, easy parking, and an appealing atmosphere in which to dine.

Additionally, a small, but soon to be growing number of shops are open to serve you. You will find Carta Bella Gift & Stationery; My Clayground; and Koo Koo Bear Kids!
