White was selected as grand marshal because of her countless years of service to the city of Roswell and the city's children. She was instrumental in the early years of the Youth Day Parade, as a founding member of the Roswell Recreation Association that has, to-date, raised over $800,000 for recreation programs and facilities in Roswell. Whilte has also served on the Roswell City Council and Roswell Recreation Commission.
