Kids Day America/International™

Dedicated to Children’s Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness

On Saturday, October 13th, 2012, communities worldwide will be participating in “Kids Day America/ International™.”  This is a special day dedicated to children’s health, safety, and environmental awareness in our community.  There will be hundreds of communities participating in the fifteenth year of this historic event, in which 5,000,000 children have benefited in 2,500 cities. 

We will provide essential information to all attendees on crime prevention, child safety, and environmental issues.  We also hope provide free fingerprinting to all children who attend, courtesy of our local police department. We will invite our local fire department to support the event by providing fire safety tips.

My team and I are inviting all of our friends and neighbors to join us at this event.  We expect appearances by Mayor Jere Wood, and other dignitaries, as representatives from the City of Roswell, at 12:00 noon.  Roswell Health and Injury Center will perform free spinal screenings, Thomas Eye Group will be preforming Free eye Screenings. Dr. Joey Lamb will be helping the Roswell Police with the I.D. Cards and teeth markings. The list of participating providers is growing.  We will distribute information on disease prevention and health promotion.  We will have special appearances by “Deeper Impact” and local Dance performers.  We will also provide free information, snacks, and giveaways along with prize drawings every half-hour!  The event will benefit North Fulton Community Charities, as part of this event to spotlight their involvement in helping families build self-sufficiency and preventing homelessness by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs. Children are the largest population of the homeless, in the metro Atlanta area.
