Why Video Cameras are a Good Idea in Your Home.

As we all saw on the news this past week home surveillance cameras played a huge role in giving the police a picture of a carjacker in midtown.  The suspect looked directly into the camera several times during the indecent giving the police an image to take around and try to find the suspect.
This is a great example of one of the many reasons why home surveillance is a good idea.  The number one reason I would have to say would be a a deterrent of a crime in general.  Possible burglars or criminals wanting to commit acts of vandalism are more than likely to be on their best behavior when being recorded.  This would mean that they pass by your house all together.
The second reason would be for evidence if something were to happen.  Just like in the example I gave, if the police do find their suspect they can make a photo ID and prosecute to the full extent of the law.   This could also be helpful if someone was to get hurt on your property and you need to prove what actually happened.
The third is just simply peace of mind.  By putting in home video cameras you know that your home is being watched whether you are there are not.  It is great if you have young children that come home to an empty house or if you have elderly parents that stay home when you are at work.  It also lets you keep an eye on possible workers that come in and out of the house on a daily basis.
Incorporating video cameras into your home is a very affordable and easy way to add another level of protection to your home security.
