On Saturday, September 28th, the Centennial High School Environmental Club participated in the Chattahoochee Rivers Alive clean up earning recognition as the largest volunteer group present that day. The club started at Island Ford, canoeing and rafting down the Chattahoochee River, making two stops at separate islands where the club members collected and removed trash. Students earned second place as the volunteer group that collected the most trash, everything from glass bottles to Styrofoam mannequin heads. At the end of the trip a few club members we able to meet with Sally Jewel, United States Secretary of Interior.
