The Roswell Historical Society recently held its 43rd Annual Officer Installation at the Gardens at Great Oaks in Roswell. Derek Todd was guest presider, and the oath of office to the board was administered by the membership. Members of the 2014 board are as follows:

As part of the tradition, the Roswell Historical Society also presents various awards to properties and groups in the community for outstanding service toward historical preservation. The following are the 2014 award winners:
Recognition of Outstanding Achievement in the field of preservation by a business or organization that has begun and completed within the past 5 years, including the restoration or rehabilitation of a structure to be used for a business or institution was presented to Drs. Courtney and Mike Rosenthal of the Rose Animal Hospital located at 362 South Atlanta Street in Roswell.
Recognition of an outstanding restoration project by an individual who has begun and completed within the past 5 years, the including the restoration or rehabilitation of a house to be used for a residence was presented to Chris Koke of 63 Goulding Place in Roswell.
Recognition of distinguished service in the field of preservation by a person, business or organization for outstanding efforts in the field of historic preservation was presented to Jena Sibille, Curator of the Fulton County Teaching Museum, North.
Partner in Preservation - Recognition of an individual, business or organization for outstanding and ongoing support to the society was presented to the National Charity League - Gardenia Chapter. Gina Manley – President, Kelly Meer and Carolyn Osborne liaisons to the Roswell Historical Society accepted the award.
The Roswell Historical Society meets on the first Thursday of the month at the Gardens at Great Oaks, 786 Mimosa Boulevard, in Roswell. Informative programs begin at 7 p.m., and guests are welcome. The mission of the society is to collect, preserve, share and promote the history of the city of Roswell and environs.
