Roswell's Red Bandanna Pet Food Store Celebrates Grand Re-Opening and Launch of Rusty's Bakery

The Roswell location, 2500 Old Alabama Road, of Red Bandanna Pet Food, an Atlanta family owned and operated, 13-store chain of natural, raw and holistic pet food, supplements, treats, chews, shampoos, accessories and toys for dogs and cats, recently celebrated a grand re-opening. The event served as the launch of Red Bandanna’s own Rusty’s Bakery, a new endeavor opened by Chef Tisha Garcia, formerly proprietor of Wedding Cakes And More.

To celebrate the grand re-opening, Red Bandanna held an event featuring bakery samples, vendors (Nature’s Variety, Taste of the Wild, Weruva, Earthborn and Stella & Chewy’s) and coupons for store product. The event also featured the Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. (SEPRA), a 501(c) (3) pug dog and pug mix rescue group, which had foster pugs on hand for a meet-and-greet and information session. Pictured here are some pugs from SEPRA (www.rescuepug.com), as well as Chef Tisha hard at work dipping some delectable carob-covered dog biscuits.

Rusty’s Bakery offers handcrafted, all-natural pet treats or “paw-stries” (such as Carob Brownies, Pumpkin Woof-les, Sweet Potato Muffins, Old Fashioned Pea-Mutt Butter Cookies and more) in all of Red Bandanna’s 13 local, metro Atlanta-area locations. Prices for the baked goods are $4.99 and up for a baker’s dozen of tasty treats. Individual treats will also be available through the stores as Chef Tisha cooks up new flavors and treats to try. Though the confections are currently only cooked at the Roswell location (and then distributed to the other stores), future plans include adding a full production bakery at the corporate office of Red Bandanna with the ability to add birthday and special event cakes and customized treats for Red Bandanna customers’ celebrations.

To accommodate for the new bakery, the Roswell store was closed for six weeks during remodeling. Installed were ovens and cooking equipment, display spaces and new signage on the storefront windows. The store is now open regular hours, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7p.m. (closed Sundays).

Tisha Garcia is a baker/pastry chef who attended Valencia Culinary Academy in Orlando, Florida. She has worked in bakeries and kitchens most of her life, starting in her grandmother’s bed and breakfast learning how to make Artisan breads and home made frostings. She worked for Publix Supermarkets as a cake decorator and bakery counter assistant, as well as worked in a large assembly bakery in Mexico City, D.F. She owned her wedding cake shoppe “Wedding Cakes And More” for three years in Historic Deland, Florida. She enjoys creating exciting and new dog treats that are both healthy and delicious.
