Bat Day Exhibit Opening at the Chattahoochee Nature Center

"Goin' Batty" holds its grand opening this Saturday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The newest permanent exhibit "Goin' Batty" opens this weekend, revealing the diversity of bats in Georgia and all around the world.

“The new, exciting addition to the permanent exhibits in the Discovery Center Museum will feature a ten foot tall tree depicting BATS found around the world and also those in our own backyards. Visitors interact by matching bats to their home country. They also discover the varied food choices of bats, and compare the extreme sizes found in the bat world,” said CNC curator, Rachel Barton.

The unique exhibit - which is made possible through a generous grant from the Lindsley Family in memory of beloved teacher, Lee Bibb Lindsley of Cobb County - was produced by 1220 Exhibits in Nashville and opens this Saturday, Oct. 1 with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by a series of events for visitors all day to continue celebrating the bat theme. Activities take place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
