Chattahoochee River Race, Festival Floats Into Roswell

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is gearing up for its popular Back To The Chattahoochee River Race & Festival. 

The 12th annual festival will return to Roswell on Saturday, June 14.

The eight-mile paddle race will start at 9 a.m. at Garrard Landing Park and end at Riverside Park, where the festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Garrard Landing Park sits at 8100 Holcomb Bridge Road and Riverside Park is at 575 Riverside Road. Both are located in Roswell. 

The race includes both competitive and recreational categories for those racing in kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. As a "special treat" for those racing in the event, paddlers will be greeted by the SweetWater Beer Barge at the end of the course, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper said in its press release.

The festival, which is free to the public, is a partnership with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Fulton County, the city of Roswell and the National Park Service. 

At the festival, the community will enjoy live music from headliners Sol Driven Train, as well guitarist Tommy Talton and the Roswell-based Music Matters Rock U bands. There also will be a slew of exhibitors, including activities for children. 

The race is $40 for solo boats and $60 for tandem boats if participants register by June 6. On-site registration, if capacity not met, will be $50 for solo boats and $70 for tandem boats.
