City Holds Relay for Life Fundraiser

The city of Roswell will host its annual "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" event on April 12 to raise funds for Roswell's Relay for Life.

Our locally elected representatives at the city of Roswell are about to go head-to-head with supervisory department staff. And it has nothing to do with passing resolutions or making cuts to the budget.

It's all for the good cause of raising money to cure cancer.

Because the Roswell Relay for Life is only a few weeks away now, teams are currently putting forth their best fundraising efforts since the goal this year is to raise $150,000 overall.

To assist in the worthwhile endeavor, the city will host its second annual "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" trivia tournament on April 12 in order to raise money for Roswell Relay for Life.

Last year one fifth grader from each of the Roswell area schools participated and event organizers are hoping for a repeat performance this year. The students chosen will be divided into two teams to help answer questions: the Mayor and Roswell City Council Team versus the Department Head Team.

The public is invited to attend and the required $2 entry donation is sure to be worth it for a chance to see city leaders scratch their heads over questions like, "What is the fastest bird on foot?"

The event takes place April 12, from 4-5 p.m. in Council Chambers at , 38 Hill St. For more information, contact Katie Troline at 770-594-6406.
