First Roswell Beer Fest a 'Great Success'

The annual event raised fund for the STAR House Foundation.

Attendees of the new Roswell Beer Festival last Saturday loved the event so much, they've already started to generate a buzz for next year's festival.

And it's no wonder, considering the event served all-you-can-taste popular brews at a prime location on Canton Street within Roswell's historic district.

"Despite the bleak weather forecast, tickets were still selling Friday evening before Saturday's event," said Monica Oliveira, director of development for the STAR House Foundation. "We also had a lot of foot traffic from people walking along Canton Street and purchasing tickets at the door."

In addition to the more than 50 local and craft beers from breweries throughout the country, guests enjoyed the sounds of The Bruce Jones Band and Cameron Morrison Kane. They also munched on panini sandwiches from the Pressed for Time food truck and beer-infused sweets from Happy Hour Confections.

Tickets, which sold for $30 in advance or $40 at the door, went to support the STAR House Foundation programs including tutoring, mentoring, enrichment activities promoting life skills and social development, as well as recreational activities promoting team building and confidence-boosting.

Volunteers worked hard to make the event a success.

"They were absolutely amazing," said Oliveira.

The foundation is already planning a bigger and better festival for next year, according to Oliveira.
