Five Things You Need to Know: This Weekend

Every week Roswell Patch will try to bring you a list of five events or activities you and your family might enjoy over the weekend.

-It's going to be a rainy holiday weekend in Roswell, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm this evening. On New Year's Day, tomorrow, the temperature will be relatively warm with a high near 60, but the wet weather will continue. Chance of showers is 80 percent.

-You don't have to go far to find a good time tonight. Celebrate New Year's Eve right here in Roswell. We've complied a  of several options you might want to check into doing before you head out of town for the night.

-With the weather promising to put a damper on outdoor activities, why not spend New Year's weekend curled up on the couch with the family? Pop some popcorn and get cozy with Moviefone's picks for the best family movies of 2010. You'll probably be able to find them all On-Demand, at  or your local .

-Start the New Year off with a startle, gasp, shriek during the , Saturday, Jan. 1 and Sunday, Jan. 2. The tour will give you some historical background on the city, as well as it's paranormal history. It's not recommended for small children and reservations are required. Cost is $15 per person.

-And if you still haven't seen the giant at , it might be worth a quick swing by as you're out and about this weekend. The display is viewable Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
