Fouts Road Arts Center to Hold Grand Opening

A former house next to East Roswell Park has been converted into the new home for the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance.

The Arts Center on Fouts Road will be christened next weekend as the City of Roswell continues observances of National Arts and Humanities Month.

The grand opening takes place next Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the center's location, 9100 Fouts Road.

That's the address of a former house next to East Roswell Park that's been converted into the new home of the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance

The house, which sits on 4.3 acres, was purchased by the City of Roswell in 2007 and refurbished to include an art gallery, culinary kitchen, art classrooms, clay studio/classroom, and outdoor space.

In addition, the 5,440-square foot center will have art classes, competitions and exhibitions of original works of art for sale. New art will rotate throughout the year.

On opening day, the center will have five artists doing demos around the property, giving tours and selling paintings in the gallery.

The Arts Center on Fouts Road will be open until 4 p.m. next Saturday on its opening.

The city undertook a similar renovation project at Art Center West, a division of the city's parks, recreation and cultural affairs department and that also is home to the Roswell Clay Collective.
