Garden Club Hosts Spring "Tea"

The Roswell Garden Club holds its annual "Spring Tea and Fashion Show" on April 6. Tickets are on sale now.

It’s nearly spring, which means the flowers are beginning to bloom and the Roswell Garden Club is gearing up for its annual “Spring Tea and Fashion Show” on April 6, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Just like the Easter bunny, it’s become a spring tradition to create your best hat, sip some tea and admire beautiful clothing, all while supporting the garden club.

Raffles and door prizes are awarded, but one of the most anticipated activities of the event has to be the "spring bonnet" contest, in which guests decorate a hat to be judged for prizes.

"The highlight is usually a toss up between the fun fashions modeled [which feature] the latest in spring styles and trends, and the never-ending food and drink that the club is famous for providing," said club secretary, Florence Anne Berna.

The club uses the funds raised during the event to fund its projects throughout the year such as caring for the gardens at Smith Plantation, Barrington Hall, the Adult Recreation Center, the Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, “Fall Farm Days” and “Christmas in Roswell” events.
