Germaine Places Third at Junior National Championships

The Roswell resident, who races luge, is now back in New York to train for her last races of the season.

Roswell's Raychel Germaine ended her first and second Junior National Championships seeding luge races over the weekend in Park City, Utah, with a bronze medal.

According to her father, Bob Germaine, the 19 degree temperature and fast ice was partially to credit for Raychel's approximate 0.05 seconds lead after the first run. She managed to put down a second run fast enough to retain the third place finish.

Germaine, a junior at , holds the ranking of third for all juniors in the U.S. now, which surpasses her personal goal of placing at least fourth in the Junior National seeding during the beginning of the season.

She is now back in Lake Placid, NY to begin training for her last sanctioned race of the year, the Senior National seeding races.
