Get Out: 5 Things To Do This Weekend

Pick out some fruits and veggies, listen to some music, or meet an author. Whatever you do, "get out" this weekend!

Raise funds for fighting breast cancer, meet an author or listen to some tunes, these are just a few of our favorite things to do this weekend,  Mar. 18-19.

Why Go: Join the Georgia Philharmonic for a feast of 19th Century Lyric Masterpieces.  The night will conclude with Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 which inspires audiences and critics alike with its lively rhythms and memorable motives. By the end of this tour, you will not be able to go home without at least one song stuck in your head.

Why Go: Visit the new Peerless Book Store on Saturday when guest James Robert Smith talks about his newest release, "The Flock."  This is a book that is already on the way to the big screen. Peerless Book Store is located between in between Kroger and Mona Lisa in Rivermont Station.

The Indoor Farmers Market at High Meadows School

Where/When: High Meadows School Community Center/1055 Willeo Road, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday, Mar. 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a stroll through this indoor farmers market where various vendors will set up shop, take in some local bands and demonstrations including a cooking demonstration by “Top Chef DC”, Table 1280 and Ray’s Killer Creek chef Tracey Bloom, sheep shearing and gardening demonstration.

Where/When: , 6290 Abbotts Bridge Rd, Duluth, GA 30097, Saturday, Mar. 19, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. (bowl preview sale); 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 

Why Go: All are invited to join Johns Creek Community Arts Center for their annual Chili Cook-Off. Bowls Preview Sale will be from 1-2 pm, come early to get first pick of all the bowls! Enjoy snacks and refreshments as you browse and purchase your one-of-a-kind bowl. Then be ready for your taste buds to enjoy the savory flavors of chili as local chefs boast their chili.

Price: $5

Where/When: , 1930 Bobby Jones Dr, Duluth, GA 30097, Saturday, Mar. 19, 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Why Go: The Pink Affairis a non-profit organization and an annual fundraising event hosted by the Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) North Fulton Link Alumnae Chapter to fund the fight against breast cancer. Randy & Spiff from 106.7, Atlanta's Greatest Hits, return as emcees for the 3rd year.  The evening includes cash bar, dinner buffet, silent auction, live auction, games, dancing and more! Enjoy complimentary wine during silent auction. Attire is dressy casual.
