Get Out: 5 Things To Do This Weekend

Hop into spring with a variety of Easter egg hunts and festivals across North Fulton.

Where/When: Harry’s Farmers Market, 1180 Upper Hembree Road, Roswell; Saturday, April 16, 3 p.m.

Why: Harry’s Farmers Market cheesemongers will celebrate the tradition behind Italy’s “king of cheese” with an in-store demonstration showing the ancient art of carving and portioning (with five different knives!) two-year-aged 85-pound Parmigiano Reggiano wheels. Store staff will demonstrate the traditional method of "cracking" the cheese which preserves its salty, crunchy, crumbly internal crystalline structure. Samples, recipes and pairings will also be provided.

Where/When: South Main Street, Alpharetta; Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Why: Nearly 100 artists from throughout the U.S. will be showcased at the seventh annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest. Enjoy live jazz, roots rock and Celtic music, as well as cultural dancing and more. Free parking will be available at City Hall and Milton Center.

Price: Free to attend

Where/When: , 13450 Cogburn Road, Alpharetta (Adult Softball Complex); April 17, 2 p.m.

Why: Children age 10 and under are invited to participate in the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department's Children's Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny, will be on-site at 2:30 p.m. and will be available for photos with children.  The egg hunt begins promptly at 3 p.m.  Children will be divided into age groups for the Easter egg hunt.  

Price: Free

Where/When: , 3150 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek; Sunday  April 17, "Pre-Hunt" activities begin at 12:30 p.m.; Egg Hunt begins at 1:30 p.m. sharp!

Why: What would spring be without an egg hunt? Children have the opportunity to hunt for thousands of filled eggs "hidden" all over Newtown Park's main soccer field, with special prize eggs in each age-group area! Enjoy face painting, moonwalk, children's activities and the opportunity to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny at the Pre-Hunt activities. 

Please bring a basket to collect your eggs and a camera for pictures.

Where/When: , 11180 Medlock Bridge Road, Duluth, Saturday April 16, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Why: Johns Creek United Methodist Church Preschool is having their sixth annual "Kids Helping Kids Carnival" on Saturday, April 16th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Bring your friends, neighbors and family to enjoy train rides, games galore, a dunk tank, silent auctions, several fun inflatable’s, food, refreshments and pony rides! Proceeds from this carnival will benefit Camp Sparrowwood, Emory Johns Creek Hospital and JCUMC’s preschool.
