Get Out: 5 Things To Do This Weekend

This weekend activities include a variety of plays, movies and butterflys.

Where/When: Improv Monster, 590 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday, July 16, 8 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Why Go?: Enjoy a night of fun as Groupmind Productions take your stories and incorporates them into their comedy routine. It is completely unscripted.

Where/When: Adult Recreation Center, 830 Grimes Bridge Road, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Why Go?: Boy scouts, girl scouts, young to mature adults, bring whatever you've found in your attic, including coins, baseball cards, stamps, comic books, etc. Dealers with over 30 years of experience will evaluate your items. Proceeds benefit the Roswell Ramblers Club.

Price: $2 (to have an evaluation done)

Where/When: , 950 Forest Street, Roswell, GA 30075, July 14 – 19, 10 a.m.

Why Go?: The story involves a bumbling headless horseman, his wise-cracking horse, the meat head Brom Bones, the lovely Katrina, her rich father and the mild-mannered and loveable Ichabod Crane. This show features twenty handmade mouth and rod puppets, as well as a shadow puppet. This show is recommended for kids 5 years and up.

Price: $4 Kids (2-12), $5 Adults

Where/When: , 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday and Sunday, July 16  (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) – 17 (12 p.m. - 5 p.m.)

Why Go?: The Flying Colors Butterfly Festival delights everyone all weekend at the Chattahoochee Nature Center when the air fills with the beating wings of hundreds of beautiful butterflies! Enjoy live music, create arts and crafts, have butterflies painted on your face and visit fascinating entomology exhibits. Kids can dress in costumes and wear their butterfly wings and antenna to march in our butterfly parades at the conclusion of festivities each day.

Price: $10 per person, free for children 2 and under

Where/When: , 350 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041, Friday, July 15, 11 a.m. Grand Opening, 7:00 p.m. Harry Potter Fan Party

Why Go?: Official Ticket Tearing Ceremony at 11 a.m. with Brian Tam, Chairman Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, and James McCoy, President Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce, as well as other community leaders. There will be giveaways at the event, including tickets to see “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2: An IMAX 3D Experience.”

Later in the day, don’t miss the Harry Potter Fan Party from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at AMC Avenue Forsyth 12. Atlanta’s Star 94 will be on-hand with games, prizes and more ticket giveaways. Bring the whole family for wizardly fun including face painting, “Make Your Own Glasses,” “60-second Summary” and more!
