Get Out: Things to Do This Weekend

Here are some events we've found throughout the local area going on this weekend.

Where/When: Hembree Farm historic site, 775 Hembree Road, Roswell, GA., Saturday, Oct. 1, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Why Go?: The Roswell Historical Society is thowing its annual Great Flea Fling at Hembree Farm to benefit the historical site. The fling offers something for everyone. From books and homemade items to antiques, this giant yard sale has it all. You don't even have to leave the property to find refreshment!

Where/When: , 935 Alpharetta Street, Roswell, GA, Saturday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.

Why Go?: Smith Plantation will hold its eighth annual Fall Farm Day Activities and will include children’s period games, a petting zoo and wagon rides. The Roswell Garden Club will provide games, crafts and concessions.

Where/When: , 814 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell, GA, Saturday, Oct. 1, 9:45 a.m.

Why Go?: This annual 5K road race for runners and walkers begins at 9:45 a.m. on Mimosa Boulevard prior to the Youth Day Parade. The race course will go through Roswell’s beautiful historic district with participants finishing in the Roswell Area Park.

Price: Raceday $25, under 15 years old, $17 and $20

Where/When: , 11595 King Road, Roswell, GA, Saturday , Oct. 1, 9 a.m.

Why Go?: Come help celebrate 21 years of running! Kids' chance invites you to come out and help children of injured workers. Whether you are a runner, walker, or a parent with a stroller, we encourage you to bring the entire family to support a great cause! The mission of Kids' Chance of Georgia, Inc. is to provide educational scholarships to the children of Georgia workers who have been seriously, catastrophically or fatally injured in work-related accidents.

Price: $25

Where/When: 98 Park Drive, Norcross, GA Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, 10 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Why Go?: Enjoy browsing over 180 regional and national artists exhibit their colorful and whimsical work on the streets of historic downtown Norcross. Musical and literary performances, fabulous food and an incredible Kidz Zone make this a must-be-there event for the weekend.

Where/When: 765 Mid Broadwell Road, Milton, GA, Saturday, Oct. 1, 09:00 am

Why Go?: More than 100 antique dealers and artists will be in Crabapple for one day only, rain or shine. Come enjoy this tradition in Crabapple and find the perfect antique or piece of art.  Free admission, trolley ride and blue grass music add to the fun; plus fabulous food!

Price: Free

Where/When: Historic Downtown Alpharetta Milton Ave and North Main Street, Alpharetta, GA, Saturday, Oct. 1, 6:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Why Go?: The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association is proud to present the first Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest, complete with street dance, brew and shenanigans. There will be great food, beer and wine and non-alcoholic beverages for sale, a performance by the Old School Horn Band from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the headline band Banks and Shane from 9 p.m. - 11 p.m.!
