Reason to Go: Several area choirs will come together - including the Zion, Pleasant Hill and Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy choirs - to perform some of their favorite selections. Additionally, the city’s first nominees will be honored during the event as part of the Roswell Roots celebration.

When: Sunday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
Reason to Go: Grab your favorite girlfriends and watch the Academy Awards the way they were meant to be watched – in "chic" style. Get dressed up (or down if you'd like!) and enjoy cocktails, hors d’ouevres and giveaways while you watch the Oscars on a large screen. And you can feel even better about your night out since a portion of the proceeds goes to The Drake House.

Reason to Go: Check out some great local art and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time with some of the best pie in Roswell.

Where: Roswell Cultural Arts Center – 950 Forrest Street
When: Feb. 1 – Mar. 31
Reason to Go: Self-taught Liberian artist, Naplah, showcases his work in oil, water colors, pen and ink. Naplah, who moved to the U.S. to escape the Liberian Civil War, founded the New Breed Arts Association in Liberia to help students who are interested in the arts. The paintings on display in Roswell exhibit scenes from Naplah's homeland, which is currently in the midst of turmoil again.

Children & Baby Bargains Spring Sale
Where: Bill Johnson Community Activity Building - 10495 Woodstock Road
When: Saturday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Reason to Go: The Roswell Recreation & Parks Department is hosting its indoor "garage sale" for baby, toddler and childrens' clothing, as well as toys, books, sports equipment and general paraphernalia. Great bargains to be had, but you have to get there early! Call 770-641-3760 for more information.
