Grab & Go Kids Planner: Mar. 17

Here are some local activities to entertain the kids over the next week.

Spring is here and kids have the opportunity to learn about camping, animals, plants, safety and much more. At night, enjoy one of two family theater classics presented by young adults for kids.

Why Go:  Wildlife Wonders will present a wide variety of live animals for the children to learn about and even touch. Some exotic animals kids may encounter are a kangaroo, alligator, python, hedgehog, fennec fox, monkey, parrot, tarantula and more! It's a great opportunity for “city” kids to interact unusual, exotic, friendly animals.

Price: $20, residents $30, non-residents

Where/When: 850 Hembree Rd, Roswell, GA 30076 (Hembree Park), Saturday, Mar. 19, 5:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Enjoy a safe and fun family camping experience in Roswell at Hembree Park. This is a great way to introduce camping to kids. So, grab your camping gear and camp with your buddies. Hembree Park will provide the s’mores, hotdogs, hot chocolate, breakfast treats and a nice warm campfire. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Price: $38, residents (family of four), $57, non-residents (family of four), $3, for each additional person.

 

Where/When: , 9135 Willeo Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, Sunday, Mar. 20, 1:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Join Lisa Cole of the Horticulture Department for a tour of the gardens on this First Day of Spring!  Discover plants just peeping out of the ground, uncover dainty first flowers, gain knowledge in folklore and medicinal uses of the early plants of spring.  This program is fun and informative for kids of all ages. Included with General Admission.

Price: Included with general admission: $8 adults, $5 children

 

Where/When: , 9560 Spruill Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022, Sat March 19, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Saturday is FUN DAY! At Northeast/Spruill Fulton County Library for Kids 5-9! For this one hour, kids will enjoy crafts, stories, face-painting and more. Registration required. 

Patrons are encouraged to donate a gently used book but not required.

Price:  FREE! Registration required.

 

Where/When: , 3595 Webb Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30005, Saturday, Mar. 19,  2:00 p.m.

Why Go: What a great way to have kids see an American classic! Alpharetta High School presents “Oklahoma!” Oklahoma celebrates America’s pioneering spirit with boot stomping energy! Local cowboys and farmers rivalry sets a colorful background for Laurey, a local farm girl. Memorable songs, a “dream ballet,” and comedic subplots secure a great entertainment event for the entire family!
