Why go: Because Georgia Ensemble Theatre really puts the “art” in “performance art.” Inherit the Wind digs into the heart and soul of America in a timely search for perspective and enduring hope. John Ammerman and Eddie Levi Lee lead a remarkable cast of over 20 in the theatrical event of the season.

YH2O Film Festival

Where/When:, Cowie Weiss Theater, 9135 Willeo Rd; Saturday Feb. 26, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday Feb. 27, noon-4 p.m.

Why go: So you can be the first to enjoy winning films from CNC’s first-ever student film competition; entries are all about water.

Babysitting Workshop at N. Fulton Regional Hospital

Where/When: 3000 Hospital Blvd.; Sunday Feb. 27 @ 1 p.m.

Why go: So your 11-14-year-old kids can learn what it takes to be a responsible, educated babysitter. This class will provide children with a knowledge in basic child care, accident prevention, medical emergencies, entertainment ideas, home & fire safety, the 911 system and more. A wallet card will be issued to participantsafter the workshop. Kids should bring a doll or stuffed animal for hands-on training, and a sack lunch with drink.

Roswell Reads 2011 Presents: The Civil War in Roswell and Civil War Reenactors

Where/When: Meeting Room, 115 Norcross St.; Sunday Feb. 27, 2-5 p.m. (Civil War in Roswell); 2:30 p.m. (Civil War Reenactors)

Why go: To give ‘tweens and teens a greater appreciation for what soldiers who camped around the city of Roswell lived through during the Civil War.

Cost: Free.

Night Hike, Star Light and Roasted Marshmallows – oh my!

Where/When:, 9135 Willeo Rd; Saturday Feb. 26, 7-9 p.m.

Why go: Nothing helps get you out of the winter blues more than a crisp hike outside, underneath a clear sky filled with stars. CNC’s naturalist takes families on a night hike to see the stars above; all ages will enjoy this special evening, which includes a live animal demonstration. Finish off the night with a warm campfire and marshmallows – what could be better?
