Join the Big Creek Wetlands Workday, March 2

Register now and enjoy a free lunch sponsored by Oasis Consulting.

The city of Roswell and Keep Roswell Beautiful will once again roll up their sleeves to preserve the city's beauty - and you're invited. Make plans to join the annual Big Creek Wetlands workday, Saturday, March 2.

Volunteers will spend the morning outdoors helping with invasive plant removal, storm drain marking, plantings and wetlands restoration at the park, says a city press release. Volunteers who register before Feb. 22 are invited to stay for a lunch cookout sponsored by Oasis Consulting. Starbucks Coffee has also generously donated snacks and beverages for this event.

Charles Seabrook, long-time environmental writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, will be the guest speaker at this year’s event, according to the release. Seabrook has won awards from the National Wildlife Federation, the Southern Environmental Law Center, and various press organizations. In 2001, the state of Georgia gave him the R. L. "Rock" Howard Award, its highest conservation award.
