Kids Corner: Pumpkin Picking at Berry Patch Farms
Hayrides, a playground and gourds galore!
Sure, the pumpkins at and are under $4. But have you ever taken your kids to a pumpkin farm and let them run around like crazy? Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock is a shorter ride than heading to North Georgia and has plenty of family-friendly fall fun, not to mention an amazing backdrop for family photos.
Located off Arnold Mill Road in Woodstock, Berry Patch Farms is beautiful and homey, not to mention family-friendly. Acres of fields provide Christmas trees each winter, blueberries in the summer, and, right now, more pumpkins than you can possibly imagine. Take the hayride out to the pumpkin patch and pick your perfect prize pumpkin - they're sold by the pound. Then snap some photos against several provided backdrops and let the kids run around. Once they're exhausted, catch the hayride back in for cider, pie, boiled peanuts, popcorn, and some downtime swinging on the playground. There are always some farm animals to visit, and last year, there was a field just for kids to pick out miniature pumpkins for $1.
You can see the fall hours on this page, and remember that weekend parking is $2 by cash or check only. What I like best about Berry Patch Farms is that it's easy for the whole family to have a wonderful time, even if you're not buying a pumpkin. My toddler and preschooler both loved it, and we had hours of fun for just $4.
